How we get paid, and what that never changes

A marketplace is only useful if you can trust its recommendations. Here is exactly how Approvd earns money, which provider we share owners with, and the rules that keep matching neutral.

Where our revenue comes from

Approvd revenue sources
Who paysWhat forWhen
Payment providersIntroducing a merchant that completes their underwritingOnly after the merchant is onboarded and goes live
Merchants (some cases)Application review and file preparationOnly if quoted and agreed in writing before work starts

If a fee applies to you, we tell you the amount before we begin. If nobody tells you about a fee, there isn’t one.

What payments never change

  • Which providers you see. Matching uses the same rules for every provider: your vertical, licence, markets, payment methods and volume. See our methodology.
  • The order you see them in. There are no paid placements, sponsored listings or featured slots for sale.
  • Whether a provider is shown at all. A provider that pays us more is not shown more often.
  • What we tell you about an offer. We compare fees, reserves and settlement on the same basis for every provider.

Ownership disclosure: FalconPay

FalconPay (falconpay.online) is a payment gateway owned by the same people who own Approvd. Because of that, we follow these rules:

  1. FalconPay is listed and matched under exactly the same rules as every other provider. It gets no default slot, badge or boost.
  2. Its directory card always shows “Same owners as Approvd”.
  3. If FalconPay is on your shortlist, we say so in the introduction, before you agree to share anything.
  4. You can ask us to leave FalconPay out of your shortlist, and we will.

What we never do

  • Rent accounts or offer “pre-approved” accounts
  • Disguise or misrepresent a merchant’s business to a provider
  • Help anyone evade the MATCH list or a provider’s rules
  • Guarantee approval with any provider
  • Hold merchant funds. Approvd is not a payment processor, bank or lender
